About Amity University
Amity University was founded in 2003 as a private research higher education institution based in the city of Noida in northern India.
As a young institution, Amity Univesity offers modern facilities, air-conditioned amphitheatre style classrooms and high-tech laboratories. It has separate accommodation available on campus for male and female students, as well as plentiful recreational and sporting facilities. Its various libraries house more than a million books, periodicals, national and international journals.
Amity offers over 250 undergraduate programmes, including law, journalism and sciences, as well as a wide range of courses at postgraduate level. Its educational framework is rooted in values such as patriotism, courage and respect for elders and the university also places an emphasis on the development of self-confidence.
A unique feature of Amity is initiatives such as the "Mentor-Mentee Concept" that ensures a constant interaction between faculty and students, with a member of staff assigned to counsel small groups of students on academic and personal concerns.
Another is its programme of activity to ensure continuous interaction with industry leaders, including CEOs, who are regularly invited to share their experiences of business and instil best practices within the university’s student body, lending them an edge in the graduate employment market.
Amity prides itself on being an innovation-driven university with over 700 patents filed by faculty in recent years.
Despite the university’s young age, it has produced an alumni of around 60,000, including photographer Smita Sharma, HSBC VP Manu Sharma, and businessman Anurag Pathak.
