About Hanyang University
Hanyang University is located in South Korea, with its main campus in Seoul, and the Education Research Industry Cluster (ERICA) located in Ansan. It was recognised for establishing the nation’s first engineering institute in 1939, as well as Korea’s first school of architecture and civil engineering.
While the university began with a focus on engineering studies, it now offers a diverse range of courses at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. There are 16 colleges, schools and divisions for undergraduates in the Seoul campus, and a further nine offered on the ERICA campus. These include music, human ecology, design, medicine, nursing, computing and pharmacy to name a few. The university’s graduate schools also offer a variety of programmes, ranging from law to culture industry and clinical nursing.
Hanyang University has partnerships with 820 universities in 88 countries, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Cambridge. These partnerships allow for student exchange and study abroad programmes. Hanyang’s students have access to student clubs, such as the International Volunteer Association, GLOBAL, and the Global Student Union.
On campus, there are a number of cafes and restaurants, book stores, a fitness centre, travel agency and a sweet shop.
