The Position
This is a key role in a friendly, motivated team providing a range of world leading research outcomes in continuous variable quantum information technologies. With no two days being the same, this role is integral to the delivery/support of experimental research in quantum optics, training of PhD students, and the growth of local quantum ecosystem involving communications with national and international research and industrial partners.
The Person
We are looking for someone who likes challenging problems and encourages team members and colleagues to workshop effective solutions. To excel in this role you will have:
- Ability to deliver high-quality research output.
- Excellence in communication with people of all levels of understanding.
- A strong interest in education and teaching.
- Ability to interface with industry and seek opportunities to grow commercial research funding.
- Achievements in leading and managing programs in experimental quantum optics.
- Experience in at least one and preferably several of the following areas:
- Quantum optics and applications in quantum information science.
- The design and use of machine learning algorithms in experimental physics.
- Systems that generate quantum states of light.
