This is a fixed term position (covering leave) as Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Genetics and Evolutionary Biology based in UCD School of Biology & Environmental Science
Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Genetics and Evolutionary Biology within the UCD School of Biology & Environmental Science. The School offers a diverse portfolio of programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels - including BSc degrees in Zoology, Cell & Molecular Biology, Environmental Biology and Plant Biology, taught MSc degrees in Applied Environmental Science, Biological & Biomolecular Science (by negotiated learning) and contribute to a BSc in Sustainability
The appointee will join a team within the School delivering lectures in the broad area of genetics, evolutionary biology and zoology. The purpose of this post is to provide undergraduate teaching (and associated administrative tasks) covering general aspects of genetics zoology and biology. The successful candidate would also be expected to contribute to the supervision of final year and MSc project students and participate in the scholarly activities of the School where appropriate. Opportunities to undertake or participate in research projects will be encouraged.
Candidates should have a PhD in an appropriate discipline.
95 Lecturer / Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: €61,617 - 97,572 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
