The Roles
We are looking for three individuals who are excited at the thought of joining a team at the forefront of Engineering Education and Research at one of the UK’s top Universities, manufacturing parts that will be used in all environments from beneath the oceans to outer space and everything in between.
About You
To be successful in this application, you will be a time served machinist having completed a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship with a Skill level equivalent to achievement of Level 6 of the NQF (Degree) comparison chart. Or equivalent industrial/professional experience.
You will be able to use your considerable skills and experience to manufacture complex and high precision work, machining components from specialist materials using a range of conventional machine tools such as Centre Lathes, Vertical Mills and Surface Grinders. Ideally with experience of CNC machining including multi-axis CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, WaterJet Cutters and Wire EDM. The ability to program, set and operate would be highly beneficial although training could be provided to the right candidate. Additional skills utilising Robot Arms and Metal Additive Manufacturing would be welcomed. You will also possess excellent hand skills.
You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. You will be used to working to tight tolerances and be comfortable in independently producing one off component parts to Engineering drawings.
