About Malaviya National Institute of Technology
Established in 1963 as Malaviya Regional Engineering College, the institute moved to Jaipur in 1965 and was declared an Institute of National Importance in 2007 under the National Institutes of Technology Act. Named in honour of Madan Mohan Malaviya, an Indian scholar, educational reformer, and politician known for his role in the Indian Independence movement, the institute is situated in Jaipur, often referred to as the 'Pink City' due to its distinctive architectural style.
Research is a significant part of the institute's activities, with five research centres focusing on energy and environment, materials research, disaster mitigation and management, rural development, and cybersecurity. The institute has formed partnerships with institutions such as the University of Greenwich, North Dakota University, and the University of Dundee to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges.
